According to SussexLive, Liverpool are interested in signing Ben White, who is on loan at Leeds United at the moment.

It has been reported that Liverpool have extensively scouted the central defender this season.

The report has claimed that sources in the north west have said that a centre-back is likely to be on the transfer wishlist of Reds manager Jurgen Klopp.

Klopp would be looking for a young defender in the same mould as 23-year-old England international centre-back Joe Gomez, according to the report.

Good signing for Liverpool?

White has done well for Leeds this season, having joined the Whites on loan from Premier League outfit Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2019.

The central defender has been a key figure in Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa’s side, and he is ready to take the next step and play in the Premier League.

The Reds could do with a young centre-back who can be coached and improved even further, and under Klopp, the 22-year-old would flourish.

However, even if Brighton get relegated to the Championship, the Seagulls may not be too willing to part company with White just yet.
