Hastie has returned to Motherwell on a season-long loan deal from Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
The 21-year-old winger moved to the Gers from Motherwell in 2019 and played with Turnrbull during his time at the Fir Park Stadium.
The 20-year-old midfielder has been on the books of Motherwell his entire professional club football career so far and is delighted to have Hastie back at the club, as shown in the following post on Twitter.
Turnbull’s evident joy suggests that he is not looking to leave Motherwell this summer, and this will come as a blow to Celtic.
The Scottish Sun reported in April that Turnbull remains on the radar of Celtic, with the midfielder’s move to the Hoops in the summer of 2019 falling through due to a knee problem.
The Scotsman reported last month that the transfer would have seen Motherwell get paid £3.25 million in transfer fees.
Celtic could do with a dynamic and talented young player such as Turnbull, but with the midfielder telling The Scotsman last month that he wants to repay Motherwell for sticking by him during his injury problems this past season and now expressing his delight at reuniting with Hastie, it seem that he is not going to make a move to Celtic Park anytime soon.
