Steve Bruce’s Newcastle United have a lot of uncertainty ahead of them, but that hasn’t affected their performances on the pitch. The Magpies are unbeaten in the league since Project Restart and, with a bit of luck, they could end up in the top half of the table.

A new era could mean that the Magpies go all out. A few of the biggest names in football have been linked with the club but they are also rumoured to be interested in some relatively cheaper players.
Bild have claimed that Newcastle United and Everton are battling it out to sign Schalke’s Weston McKennie.

Replacement for Matty Longstaff?
Newcastle are yet to reach an agreement with young Matty Longstaff over his future. The highly-rated midfielder could leave the club for free this summer and Bruce will need a replacement.
McKennie, a hugely versatile midfielder, would be a very smart addition for the Toon. The American has been the shining star in an otherwise disappointing season for Schalke in the Bundesliga this term.
McKennie could prove to be a very good fit under Bruce if the deal goes through. His work rate, tackling, ball control and composure for his age has been fantastic, and a move to the Premier League will help him reach the next level.
Newcastle fans would certainly love to see him at St. James’ Park next season. Here is how a few of them reacted on Twitter:
