Some Leeds United fans on Twitter have admitted that they’d be interested in re-signing Lewis Cook this summer.

Cook is one of the most talented players to come through the Thorp Arch academy in recent years.

The 23-year-old left Leeds to join Bournemouth for £10 million [The Guardian] in the summer of 2016.

But there could be a role reversal between United and the Cherries in the very near future.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side look like they’re heading back into the Premier League, boasting a six-point cushion in the automatic promotion places, while Bournemouth were thumped 4-1 by Newcastle United last night to keep them in the relegation zone with six matches left.

Cook impressed after coming on at half-time against the Magpies and here’s how some Leeds fans reacted to his performance on Twitter:

Could this be feasible? Possibly. Bournemouth are going to need money and promotion is worth £200 million to Leeds – at least, it was before the global health crisis. It remains to be seen whether it’s as lucrative.

By the same token, you could argue that Cook wouldn’t even get into Bielsa’s best XI, with Kalvin Phillips, Mateusz Klich and Pablo Hernandez a pretty formidable midfield-three.
