The Premier League high-flyers are returning to a familiar hunting ground, it seems.
The Mirror (28 June, page 49) reports that Wolves have their sights set on another Primeira Liga star, with the £15 million-rated Otavio potentially set to swap the Estadio do Dragao for a reunion with his former Porto boss at Molineux.
The versatile attacker, who has ten assists in all competitions this season, played 33 games under Nuno Espirito Santo during the 2016/17 campaign.
Speaking with just over 12 months left on his client’s contract, Jeronimo Soares has boosted Nuno’s hopes of signing one of his former players.
“After so many years with Porto, he would like to be able to try a new adventure,” Soares says of Otavio, who joined the Portuguese giants from Internacional in 2014.
“His contract expires in 2021 and the renewal negotiations have not gone very well. From January, he could sign a pre-contract with anyone.”
Soares added that the Brazilian play-maker is ‘close to obtaining a Portuguese passport’, which should help to avoid potential work permit problems if Wolves shore up their initial interest.
Serie A giants Napoli are also in the race and, while the agent is confident that Otavio would adapt to any league, he believes Gennaro Gattuso’s Coppa Italia champions could be the perfect fit.
