Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu Rex, known as Burna Boy, is a 28-year-old award-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter.

His genre is Afro-fusion; a genre that combines Afrobeat, dancehall riddims, reggae, American rap and Rhythm & Blues. 

Burna Boy has collaborated with Stormzy, Ed Sheeran, Beyonce and Jorja Smith to name a few.

His latest album “African Giant” was nominated for Best World Music Album at the Grammys 2019 and since then, fans refer to him as ‘African Giant’.

On June 28th, Burna Boy won his second BET Award for Best International Act, presented by Naomi Campbell, and during his acceptance speech he found the opportunity to show his support to Africans once again: “In order for Black lives to matter, Africa must matter.”
