According to SDNA, Napoli are pushing ahead to sign reported Liverpool and Leicester City target Kostas Tsimikas having previously had a bid rejected.

The speedy left-back has been heavily linked with a move away from Olympiacos.

A report in April by FOSOnline claimed both Liverpool and Leicester want Tsimikas, with the Greek champions seeking a £23 million fee for their prized asset.

But the latest reports from Greece claim the Premier League duo face stern competition.

Napoli reportedly had a bid rejected for Tsimikas in January. However, that hasn’t warned them off, as the Serie A club now return for the fullback this summer.

Tsimikas was a huge hit during a loan spell in the Eredivisie with Willem II. Now, the Greece international has returned to his homeland and improved further.

The 24-year-old has posted seven assists this season, and he helped the Greek club knock out Premier League side Arsenal in the Europa League.

Liverpool may see him as an ideal back-up for Scotland international Andrew Robertson.

The Reds have Joe Gomez who can be pushed out to the left. However, the former Charlton Athletic youngster is far more defensive-minded.

Leicester, on the other hand, could be looking at a possible Ben Chilwell replacement.

England international Chilwell has been linked with a summer move to Chelsea (The Times). His absence would leave the Foxes with a big void to fill.

But if the Premier League duo are serious in their interest for Tsimikas, they may have to move quickly as SDNA add it’s only a matter of time before Napoli submit a new offer.
