According to the Daily Mail, Leeds United are in the race to sign Reading attacker Danny Loader this summer.
It’s claimed that Portuguese side Vitoria de Guimaraes are launching an ambitious move for Loader, in the hope of teaming him up with fellow Englishman Marcus Edwards.
Loader is out of contract this summer, and Get Reading claim that he has rejected the chance to stay put at the Madejski Stadium.
Loader saw a move to Wolves fall through last summer, but could still end up in the Premier League as Crystal Palace are rivalling Vitoria.
Additionally, Leeds want Loader, and they could be playing in the top flight. Marcelo Bielsa’s men are closing in on promotion, and could see Loader as an exciting young addition.
The 19-year-old has bagged 19 goals and six assists in 38 games for Reading’s Under-23’s, and looks to have big potential despite limited first-team impact.

He can play out wide or up front, and that versatility could appeal to Marcelo Bielsa. Reading would be due a compensation fee if he does move on, which would be considerably lower if he joins a non-English club.
Leeds’ development of young players, especially under Bielsa, has to be appealing here, but they will have to fend off Vitoria for Loader’s signature.
