According to L’Equipe, Jurgen Klopp is very interested in signing Victor Osimhen – but Liverpool are yet to make their move for the Lille striker.
It’s claimed that Napoli have put forward a staggering €80million (£72million) fee for Osimhen, with Lille seemingly ready to sell.
However, Osimhen has been told by people he trusts that a move to Naples isn’t the right move, meaning the Nigerian is yet to commit to a move.
There could yet be a twist in the tale, as Klopp allegedly wants Osimhen at Liverpool, with the striker’s hunger appealing to the Liverpool boss.
However, Liverpool haven’t made a move to match Napoli’s offer, even though the report claims Liverpool can easily afford it.
That seems odd; Liverpool backed away from Timo Werner due to his £50million price tag, so spending even more than that as the club feels the effects of the global pandemic.

Osimhen is certainly a talent; he racked up 18 goals and six assists this season, starring following his move from Belgian side Charleroi last summer.
He would pose a different threat to Roberto Firmino in attack, making intelligent runs in behind defences and posing a threat as a penalty box poacher.
If Liverpool can find the money, Osimhen would be an exciting addition to Klopp’s attack – but it’s just difficult to see them paying £72million for him.
