Arsenal returned to the Emirates Stadium with a bang as they smashed four past Norwich City to pick up their third win on the trot.

A brace from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and goals from Granit Xhaka and Cedric Soares sealed an impressive win for the Gunners but there was another player on the pitch who had a brilliant game.

Dani Ceballos ran the show for the Gunners from midfield, especially in the first half. The Spaniard has been excellent under Mikel Arteta in the middle of the park and his performances will tempt Arsenal to keep him at the club beyond the end of this season.

The 23-year-old’s loan deal ends at the end of this campaign. Ceballos hasn’t quite scored and assisted as much as he would have liked but he has been integral in Arsenal’s build-up play since the turn of the year.

Mikel Arteta was delighted with his compatriot’s performance and hinted that he might try and keep him for another season, if not more.

He said as quoted by The Evening Standard’s Simon Collins: “Both clubs (Arsenal and Real Madrid) have been in communication. I really like Dani & what he brings to the team. He has a big personality to play & takes the ball in any area of the field. He has improved so much & he looks a really good player”

Real Madrid don’t really need him at the moment but they certainly won’t make it easy for Arsenal to sign him.

The Gunners, like many other clubs, are facing financial difficulties ahead of this summer’s transfer window. A player of Ceballos’ quality will certainly not be cheap which will make it difficult for Arsenal.

Another season-long loan deal with some sort of clause to buy Ceballos would be a smart move by Arsenal but whether they can convince the player and Real Madrid to accept that is an entirely different story.
