Arsenal fans have suggested that Pep Guardiola’s comments about them highlight how far they have fallen as a team.
Arsenal are due to take on Guardiola’s Manchester City side in the FA Cup semi-final next month.
However, Guardiola did not appear too concerned about the threat that Arsenal could pose.
“We have a semi-final against Arsenal and want the final. That will be the best preparation – to win the trophy and to prepare for Real Madrid,” he said to the Daily Mail.
The comments have not gone down well with Arsenal fans, who feel that Guardiola has rather overlooked their threat.
Arsenal will go into the clash with City as heavy underdogs, as their record against Guardiola’s side is not at all encouraging.
The Gunners were dispatched with 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium in their first game back after the restart, and their performance does not give much reason for optimism.
Arteta’s side have improved more recently though, with Arsenal picking up back-to-back wins in their most recent matches.
