Talking Heads continues on BBC One but just what do we know about Rochenda Sandall, the star of the episode, The Outside Dog?
With films and TV series facing the full force of the Covid-19 pandemic, most of what we’re starting to see on our screens are repeats.
The main exception to that is BBC One and iPlayer’s new adaptation of Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads which hit our screens this June.
Talking Heads welcomes a cast of 12 of the biggest actors currently out there including Imelda Staunton, Martin Freeman and Jodie Comer, to name but a few.
Arguably one of the lesser-known names appearing in Talking Heads is Rochenda Sandall but where might you have seen the actress appearing in episode 7 of Talking Heads?
Talking Heads on BBC One
Beginning on BBC One on Tuesday, June 23rd, Talking Heads is a modern adaptation of the Alan Bennett monologue films of the 1980s and 90s, featuring two brand new stories.
The 12-episode series welcomes a star-studded cast that features some of the biggest and best acting talents currently out there, all performing in films on their own.
Rochenda Sandall in Talking Heads
- Rochenda Sandall appears as Marjory in The Outside Dog.
Grimsby-born Sandall is the second actress to appear as Marjory in The Outside Dog after Julie Walters held the role in 1998’s original airing.
Rochenda’s acting career began in earnest when she graduated from the prestigious Royal Academy of Drama Arts (RADA) in 2012.
This was quickly followed by her acting debut which came a year later in 2013 and has led to an impressive career since. We’ll get onto her previous roles in a moment.
Rochenda Sandall: Films and TV
As mentioned, Rochenda Sandall made her first appearance as a professional actress in 2013 when she appeared on the BBC medical drama Doctors.
In the seven years since, Sandall has appeared in almost 25 acting roles.
Her biggest and most well-known role undoubtedly came as Lisa McQueen in the police drama Line of Duty.
However, other prominent performances have also come in the likes of Love, Lies and Records as well as Coronation Street, Broken, Netflix’s Criminal: UK and she even had a cameo in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, something which Talking Heads co-star Jodie Comer can also attest to.
Talking Heads: The Outside Dog airs at 9:35pm on June 30th on BBC One while the full 12-episode series is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
