Even though the 2019/20 season has yet to be completed, one eye is already starting to turn towards the 2020/21 season with new signings being announced and potential kits being leaked.

And now, we’ve finally got our first official glimpse of the football that will be used in the Premier League and in several of the world’s divisions.

Naturally, the new design has caught the attention of plenty of football fans around the world but where is the new ball available to buy and will it be THAT colour when we actually see it used in the Premier League?

The new Nike Flight football

The new Nike ball, titled the Flight, was revealed on June 29th, 2020.

Each year, the new design of ball is improved and refined and the Flight is the most high tech yet.

According to the ball’s official product description, the Flight’s ridged design was honed over the last eight years and took 1,700 hours of testing.

The ball’s moulded grooves and 3D-printed ink are the latest innovations in football aerodynamics and will ensure that players will be able to place the Flight exactly where they want it.

We can’t wait to see how much curl players can generate with this new design.

Not its final look

The plain white design will no doubt appeal to some but for those who are used to seeing footballs with a splash of colour, don’t worry.

The ball that has been released is the standard design while league specific designs will almost certainly feature some eye-catching patterns.

Already, there have been a number of leaks showing off what the Flight could look like in action.

This example is reminscent of the T90 balls from the mid-2000s.

Meanwhile, this leaked design from Footy Headlines seems to be more likely as the ball’s grooves are much more noticeable.

Where to buy the new premier league ball

The plain white Nike Flight football is already on sale through Nike’s official store as well as through online stores such as Pro Direct.

It should be noted that the match quality Flight ball won’t come cheap with it set to cost £119.95 on Nike’s store and £120 from Pro Direct and that’s before delivery costs.

If you’re not so keen on the white golf ball-esque design, we should catch our first official glimpse of the 2020/21 Premier League design before too long so you may want to want to stay patient for the time being.
