According to Calciomercato, Torino have decided to sell defender Ola Aina this summer amid links to both Everton and West Ham United.
It’s claimed that Aina has endured an inconsistent season, and that’s why Torino will consider offers for him this summer.
They paid €10million (£9million) to sign Aina from Chelsea last summer, and won’t accept any bid below that amount.
Aina enjoyed a strong loan spell at Torino during the 2018-19 season, and did enough to earn a permanent move but hasn’t replicated his form.
A return to England seems likely for the Nigerian international. Gazzetta Dello Sport reported in April that Aina was homesick and wanted to head back to England.
The 23-year-old was born in London and came through the Chelsea ranks, so heading back to England certainly adds up for Aina.
That report noted that Everton and West Ham are both keen on Aina, with the two sides needing to bolster their right back options this summer.
West Ham would hand Aina a move back to London, though Everton have Aina’s friend and international teammate Alex Iwobi in their ranks, meaning both clubs have their selling points to Aina.
Capable of playing at right back or right wing back, Aina has potential but has seemingly lost his way a little in Italy. Going for him now could be a gamble, but with budget restrictions in place this summer, a cheaper option like Aina could make sense.
