Mauricio Pochettino may have left Tottenham Hotspur back in November, but his son is staying on after signing a new deal.
Pochettino’s departure earlier this season is still a sore subject for many; his five-and-a-half years in charge saw Tottenham advance rapidly, going from top four hopefuls to Champions League finalists.
Some still don’t like that Pochettino was axed in favour of Jose Mourinho, and it’s still unclear exactly what Tottenham’s identity is with Pochettino gone.
Still, the Pochettino name is being represented at Tottenham. His son Maurizio has been coming through the Tottenham ranks, with a bright future ahead.
The 19-year-old winger bagged one goal and three assists in 14 appearances for Tottenham this season, across Premier League 2, UEFA Youth League and EFL Trophy games.
It’s unclear whether Pochettino is regarded highly enough for first-team consideration moving forward, but the teenager has taken a big step today.
The youngster has taken to Instagram to post a photo of himself signing a new Tottenham contract – and father Mauricio is right there with him.
Some even spotted that Pochettino is still – more than seven months since his departure – wearing Tottenham gear in the photo, showing his prolonged love for the club.
