Newcastle United’s Matty Longstaff is waiting for their new owners to arrive before making a final decision on his future, according to the Guardian

Longstaff has still not penned new terms with Newcastle, and it is thought that he is on the verge of a move to Udinese.

However, the youngster is prolonging making a final decision over his future, in the hope that Newcastle’s takeover does go through soon.

If Newcastle get new owners it is thought that they will become one of the richest sides in world football, and that could help Longstaff earn an improved deal.

At the moment the Magpies’ contract offer isn’t as valuable as Udinese’s.

But it seems that there could still be hope that Longstaff will stay, if Mike Ashley does depart soon.

Newcastle have been waiting for approval of their takeover for well over two months now, and it is thought that a final decision from the Premier League is edging closer.
