According to Il Messaggero, Newcastle United and Everton target Patrik Schick wants to move to RB Leipzig after the German club submitted an offer.
The Czech Republic international striker is currently on loan at Leipzig from Roma.
He has enjoyed a soild campaign, netting ten goals in 22 Bundesliga appearances.
A recent report from The Chronicle claims Newcastle scout Mick Tait has been watching Schick ‘extensively’ ahead of a possible move this summer.
The Magpies are in the middle of a Saudi billionaire takeover and the club could have significant funds available to strengthen their squad this summer.
But Newcastle aren’t alone in their interest in the 6ft 1inch striker.
Il Messaggero say Everton are also keen. The Toffees have improved under Carlo Ancelotti but with just one goal scored since the restart, the club may seek extra attacking talent.
The Italian editorial, however, claims Schick has his heart set on a move to Leipzig.
The Bundesliga club have already submitted a proposal of £18 million. Roma are said to want more and are still hoping for a bigger offer from the Premier League.
Timo Werner’s upcoming transfer to Chelsea will create a void upfront for Leipzig. Schick would find regular playing time there with Champions League football too.
If Newcastle and Everton are serious in their interest, then they may have to move quickly while offering Schick financial incentives he simply can’t refuse.
