It seems like one step forward and two back for Joelinton at Newcastle United.
The towering Brazilian striker scored only his second Premier League goal for the Magpies in a 3-0 win over Sheffield United last weekend.
Given that he cost Newcastle a cool £40 million, it isn’t good enough.
But it was hoped that scoring against the Blades would give him a morale boost, though he couldn’t build on it last night.

Steve Bruce’s side were held to a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa at St James’s Park and Joelinton, despite some decent contributions, again seemed to be lacking something of a cutting edge up front.

Andy Carroll replaced Joelinton just after the hour mark and went on to provide a brilliant assist for Dwight Gayle – also a second-half substitute – to open the scoring on 68 minutes.
