Metz starlet Yassine Gourari-Tebaa could be on his way to the Premier League with Watford offering a three-year contract to the Everton and Brighton and Hove Albion target, according to France Football.
Considering that Marcel Brands is pulling the strings at Goodison Park these days, Toffees fans will spend much of the summer scouring YouTube for compilations and clips of little-known teenagers.
After all, Everton’s director of football is famed for his ability to sniff out the next generation of superstars, signing a fresh-faced Dries Mertens, Gini Wijnaldum and Hirving Lozano during his trophy-laden spell in the Eredivisie.
And while Gourari-Tebaa is far from a household name on Merseyside, Everton fans should be confident in assuming that this teenage goalkeeper is a player with vast potential.
France Football reports that the Franco-Moroccan glovesman could be heading across the Channel this summer, with Ligue 1 outfit Metz failing to agree professional terms with one of their most highly-rated prospects.
Watford have offered Gourari-Tebaa the chance to move to Vicarage Road on a deal until 2023, though there is also interest from Everton and Brighton.
The Toffees have won the Premier League 2 title twice since 2017 with U23 coach David Unsworth working wonders with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Jonjoe Kenny and Mason Holgate.
So there are worse places for Gourari-Tebaa to hone his cat-like reflexes.
