According to Tuttosport, Torino have made contact with Brighton and Hove Albion player Ezequiel Schelotto with the utility man keen on a return to Serie A.
The Argentine wide player joined Brighton in 2017 under former boss Chris Hughton.
Schelotto made 20 Premier League appearances in his debut campaign at the Amex Stadium. However, he soon fell out of favour at the club.
The 31-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he is set to leave.
The latest reports from Tuttosport claim Torino have made contact for him.
Schelotto is keen to return to Italy. The former Inter Milan play is said to be unhappy at Brighton, and he favours Torino over a move to Benevento.
Brighton’s latest point at Leicester City pushes the Seagulls closer to survival.
Graham Potter’s side are currently six points above the drop zone. Another four points from their remaining seven games could be enough to preserve their top-fight status.
Their position potentially allows Potter more time to plan ahead for next season.
Schelotto has signed a new extension to the end of the campaign. But then getting him off the wage bill could allow for greater freedom this summer.
Likened to former Italy star Mauro Camoranesi, Brighton fans may feel somewhat disappointed by Schelotto’s spell at the Amex considering his former reputation.
