Season 2 of Doom Patrol has just premiered with three episodes being released, but fans are now confused at the release schedule for next week.

It’s been a long wait, but DC’s Doom Patrol series is finally back.

Exactly 13 months after the season 1 finale, the first three episodes of Doom Patrol season 2 have been released on DC Universe and HBO Max.

However, this strange way to premiere a new season has left some fans confused as to what the weekly release schedule will be going forward.

Doom Patrol: Why were episodes 1 – 3 released together?

The simple answer, marketing.

On June 20th, DC announced that they would be making the first three episodes of Doom Patrol season 3 available for free YouTube. Understandably, this brought in a whole host of new fans and started to build up the hype train for the season 2 premiere.

It seems like DC are looking to capitalise on this hype by releasing the first three episodes of season 2 on the DC Universe website and HBO Max.

Doom Patrol season 2 episode 4: Release date

At the time of writing, episode 4 of Doom Patrol season 2 is scheduled to be released on July 2nd.

Following the three episodes drop for the premiere, the final six episodes of Doom Patrol season 2 will be released weekly on DC Universe and HBO Max.

Doom Patrol season 2: UK release date

If you are waiting to watch Doom Patrol season 2 in the UK and you don’t have access to either DC Universe or HBO Max, don’t worry the show will be coming in the not-too-distant future.

Season 2 will premiere on July 16 on Starzplay. Amazon Prime customers can sign up for a seven-day free trial and pay a mere £4.99 per month to watch the show.

Starzplay is also available through their official app, Apple TV, Virgin Media, Roku and Rakuten.
