A second successive 2-0 defeat has put West Ham United in a worse position that they initially were in. The Irons are 17th in the league but all three sides below them have a game in hand over them.

Both Aston Villa and Bournemouth can leapfrog the Hammers by the end of today which would leave West Ham down in 19th in the Premier League table.

David Moyes’ side looked lost for most parts of the game against Tottenham last night. Spurs dominated the ball and as unlucky as West Ham were with Tomas Soucek’s own goal, they didn’t deserve to take anything away from the game.

Jose Mourinho’s side deservedly took all three points and West Ham fans are not happy. There were a lot of doubts over Moyes’ appointment when he took over from Manuel Pellegrini in December.

Just three wins in 14 games in all competitions is a shocking record for any manager irrespective of how difficult the job is. Some Hammers fans seem to be fed up already and want Moyes gone before things potentially get worse.

It is a difficult period to bring in a new manager, especially in the current financial climate. Not many people would be interested in taking over West Ham, who are in serious danger of going down with just seven games left.

However, West Ham supporters seem to have identified a man who could potentially be convinced by the club to take charge again – Big Sam Allardyce.

Allardyce, 65, did a good job at West Ham during his time at Upton Park and West Ham fans are hoping that the club will bring him back to get them out of the hole that they currently are in.
