Mitch Harrison made history as the first transgender contestant on Titan Games this week.

June is Pride month and every year there are parades and festivals that celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

However, most of these events have been cancelled due to the ongoing pandemic crisis around the world.

Even though people can’t mark Pride month like last year, Titan Games made headlines after it welcomed its first transgender athlete to compete on the NBC series.

So, let’s meet Mitch Harrison and get to know the contestant, including career and Instagram!

Meet Mitch Harrison

Mitch comes from from Salt Lake City and lives in Nikiski now.

The Titan Games star played basketball first for Stanford University and then for Utah.

During the athlete’s time with Stanford Cardinals, Mitch reached two national championships and then moved over to Utah to play during the 2010-2011 season.

Prior to the start of Titan Games, Mitch took to Instagram and wrote:

“My anxiety and nerves are on HIGH as I compete as ‘Mitch’ for the first time in my life (and on the biggest stage), but I can’t wait to share my story with you all and to proudly represent trans athletes as well as the LGBTQ community during this Pride month.”

Mitch then followed up with another post to thank fans of the series for their huge support and love after Monday’s episode.
