Fortnite Season 3 has finally begun and most people unanimously agree that the flooded parts of the map are great. However, since the start of this exciting new season, fans of the Battle Royale title have noticed that police cars have been removed. Some fans have reacted angrily to this omission and here you’ll discover what prompted Epic Games to reportedly remove all cars associated with the police.

As previously mentioned, Season 3 of Fortnite includes a partly flooded map. This has resulted in the arrival of Jason Mamoa’s Aquaman as well as provided fans with the ability to ride great white sharks that are full of loot.

Yet, although mostly everything in the new season has been received well, there are some fans who are annoyed about the reported removal of police cars.

Have police cars been removed from Fortnite?

Lots of people are reporting that police cars have been removed from Fortnite.

Police cars are said to have been removed from Fortnite as of writing with many players noting that they can’t even be found in Creative.

One user on Reddit (via Kotaku Australia) has noted that they still fall from rifts but that they soon turn into generic vehicles.

Some fans haven’t reacted well to the omission of police cars with the main cited reason being that the removal has ruined certain Creative maps.

As you’d expect, the more cynical members amongst the community have called it a “shameless PR stunt,” whereas most are just saying it’s “dumb and useless”.

However, while many people are reporting that police cars have been removed, know that Epic Games have not officially confirmed the removal.

Why did Epic Games remove police cars in Fortnite Season 3?

Epic Games have reportedly removed police cars in Fortnite Season 3 because they’re trying to be “sensitive about issues” in the world at the moment.

The removal of police cars is said to not be a “political statement” by Epic Games, but some of the Fortnite community have regarded it as such.

Dexerto have provided the above snippets of quotes from the Wall Street Journal but unfortunately you have to subscribe to the original source to read their full article.

Know that the Wall Street Journal’s quotes supposedly come from an unnamed source connected to the game as opposed to officially Epic Games (via IGN India).

Although it’s not flat-out said, you’d expect any removal of police cars to be in response to the heinous murder of George Floyd and other victims such as in Atlanta.

While this makes the removal of police cars somewhat understandable, it’s also easy to empathise with those who are upset especially in regard to Creative.

Some of the Battle Royale community have also linked the reported removal of these cars to the defund/abolish the police movement, and this has naturally caused more anger online as not everyone agrees with this political viewpoint.
