Bournemouth are another step closer to relegation after losing 2-0 at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday evening, with Eddie Howe’s side now in real trouble.

The Cherries needed a big performance following the global pandemic – and especially after seeing West Ham United lose 2-0 at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

However, Bournemouth turned in a disappointing display. Luka Milivojevic opened the scoring with a pinpoint free kick, and Jordan Ayew added a second following a sweeping team move.

Bournemouth couldn’t haul themselves back into the game, and remain in the relegation zone on goal difference with their Premier League safety in real doubt.

There was little to shout about for Bournemouth fans, though the performance of playmaker David Brooks was the one shining light of the game.

The Welshman has been out for most of the season through injury, and starting against Palace was his first appearance of the season as a result.

He only played 61 minutes, but he did enough to draw huge praise from Liverpool fans on Twitter during and after the game.

Liverpool fans called Brooks ‘quality’ after his performance on Saturday, believing that the club should move for him as their next relegated signing after Andrew Robertson and Xherdan Shaqiri in recent years.

Some even want Liverpool to swap Harry Wilson for Brooks, and think the Reds should really push for his signature this summer.
