Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has told the Manchester Evening News that he is excited to see Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta again.
Arteta and Guardiola worked together at City, before the 38-year-old took the Arsenal job midway through the season.
Arteta and Guardiola are yet to come up against each other as managers, but will do so for the first time tonight.
And Guardiola is looking forward to pitting his wits against his former assistant.
“I’m so excited to see him, one of the nicest people I ever met,” Guardiola said.
“It was a joy for me and for all of us to work with him. The feeling I have is he’s happy there and doing an incredible job. I’m looking forward to seeing him.”
Arteta has done an excellent job at Arsenal so far, and a win tonight would really ignite their top four hopes.
Arsenal are currently ninth and some way away from the Champions League qualification spots.
However, a win over City would move them to within touching distance of the top five.
Arsenal are still unbeaten in the Premier League in 2020, and will hope that the recent halt in play does not stop their momentum.
