When did Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge appear in The Simpsons?

The Simpsons has been airing since 1989 and with almost 700 episodes under its belt, it can be quite tricky to remeber specific scenes from certain episodes.

That’s not the case for Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge as the game appears in one of The Simpsons’ most iconic episodes.

  • The episode in which it appears is season 7, episode 11 – Marge Be Not Proud.

The episode sees the release of the new Bonestorm video game sweep Springfield but due its hefty price tag and gory content, Bart is told he can’t have it.

The impressionable Simpson is then persuaded by Jimbo and Nelson to steal a copy but Bart is caught and it drives a wedge between him and Marge.

Eventually, Bart and Marge reconcile after he gets her a touching Christmas gift and in return, she gets Bart a copy of Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge, which we can see in action during the episode’s end credits.

Introducing the playable version of Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge

The playable version of Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge was created by 25-year-old Communications and Culture student, Aaron Demeter.

Demeter told Newsweek that his recreation of Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge, built using Unity, took five days to make before releasing on June 15th.

The game is a faithful recreation of the game we see in Marge Be Not Proud and features gameplay just as monotonous as the real thing.

But, while we only see one outcome in The Simpsons episode, the playable version offers up a series of different outcomes.
