Jordan Henderson has raved about his former Liverpool teammate Philippe Coutinho on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel.

Henderson has named Coutinho as one of the five best players he has shared a dressing room with, but he was not allowed to mention any of his current Liverpool teammates.

The 29-year-old England international midfielder played with Coutinho at Anfield, and he has spoken highly of the attacking midfielder.

Henderson said on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel: “[Philippe] Coutinho So good as a player, technically.

“Again just loved playing football, wanted to be out there enjoying playing football. Such a top player and a great lad as well.”

Back to Liverpool?

Coutinho was hugely successful during his time at Liverpool and earned the move to Barcelona in in 2018.

Sent out on loan to Bayern Munich in the summer of 2019, the 28-year-old, who can also operate as a winger, has not been a massive success at Barcelona.

According to The Sunday World (print edition, back page, June 14, 2020), Coutinho wants to return to Liverpool in the summer transfer window and is ready to take a pay-cut.

While Liverpool have a very good attacking unit, a player of Coutinho’s quality and experience will make Jurgen Klopp’s side even better.
