Bryson DeChambeau’s Charles Schwab Challenge appearance has got fans praising his workout routine after putting on around 20 lbs of muscle in three months.
The 2020 sporting calendar has been decimated thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic with countless events and competitions forced into postponement or cancellation
Now though, thankfully for sports fans, a number of competitions are getting back underway, including golf’s PGA Tour.
Over the course of June 11th – 14th, players took part in the Charles Schwab Challenge at the Colonial Golf Course in Texas.
And while there was plenty of eye-catching golf on show, some fans couldn’t help but notice how big Bryson DeChambeau has become in the three months since he last took to the golf course.
Fans discuss Bryson DeChambeau’s impressive physique
It’s safe to say that Bryson DeChambeau made quite the impact when he took to the Colonial Golf Course in Texas for the Charles Schwab Challenge.
DeChambeau is famed for his muscly physique and when he arrived on the course in Texas, fans quickly took to social media to discuss the extra pounds of muscle DeChambeau had managed to add during the lockdown.
One fan on Twitter said: “Bryson Dechambeau is fucking huge all respect for the amount of gym work put in gain the yardage off the tee.”
While another added: “Respect to Bryson DeChambeau putting in work during the off-season. The guy gained like 20 pounds of muscle! MAD respect now the guy’s bouta hit the furthest on tour.”
DeChambeau’s work clearly paid off as he managed to hit four drives of 330 yard or longer during day one of the competition and even managed 353 and 354-yard drives on the first and 11th holes respectively, according to NBC’s Golf Channel.
Bryson DeChambeau’s workout regime
DeChambeau claimed ahead of the Charles Schwab Challenge that he now weighs 240 lbs (108.8 kg), which is a gain of around 40 lbs on his weight in September 2019.
Naturally, fans have been curious about Bryson’s workout and training regime during the last few months which has resulted in the 26-year-old looking more like an American Football player than a golfer.
DeChambeau’s exact routine isn’t known but as followers of his Instagram page will attest, Bryson has not wasted his time while under quarantine.
The golf star has posted pictures and videos of his workout routines that have involved plenty of gym work, muscle activation exercises and plenty of golf net practice as well as playing copious amounts of the video game Fortnite.
How Bryson DeChambeau fared at the Charles Schwab Challenge
Bryson DeChambeau’s lockdown workout regime seems to have had a positive impact on the 26-year-old.
DeChambeau was one of four players to finish in joint-third place in the Charles Schwab Challenge.
The four-way tie for third place with Justin Rose, Jason Kokrak and Xander Schauffele saw the quartet finish on -14.
Meanwhile, Daniel Berger came out as the competition’s winner on -15 after a narrow play-off win over Collin Morikawa.
