Quite a few clubs are introducing their younger players into their senior squad for training sessions as of late and Tottenham Hotspur are no different.
The likes of Harvey White and Malachy Fagan-Walcott have been involved in Jose Mourinho’s training at Spurs since sessions resumed at Hotspur Way last month.
And now there’s reportedly another one.
According to Football London, Mourinho has also integrated Dennis Cirkin into the senior set-up lately.
The report claims that the Tottenham boss has been impressed by the 18-year-old’s performances in the UEFA Youth League and Cirkin – who hasn’t even made his Under-23s debut yet – has been rewarded.
Despite training with the big boys, Cirkin, White and Fagan-Walcott won’t be heavily involved for Spurs in the Premier League.
Mourinho’s side are eighth in the table and seven points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, meaning there’s honestly no margin for error if they’re going to finish in the top four.
It’s already a tall order, but the Portuguese head coach needs to maximise his chances of achieving Champions League qualification and the best way to do that is by going with tried-and-tested talent.
