Honduras international Andy Najar has agreed to return to MLS and has signed a contract for LAFC, according to reports.
Najar began his professional career at DC United, making his Major League Soccer debut in 2010. In his first season, Najar won the MLS Rookie of the Year award. The versatile right-sided player continued his impressive MLS form for DC throughout the following three years.
Najar, who can play as full back or on the right of midfield, represented Honduras at the 2012 Olympic Games and then made the move to European soccer six months later.
In January 2013 the midfielder signed for Anderlecht in a reported $3 million deal, becoming a regular in both the Belgian Pro League and in European competition.
However, injuries and a loss of form has meant that Najar has become surplus to requirements at Anderlecht. As a result, the Belgian giants are unlikely to prevent a Najar departure – especially as the 27-year-old’s contract is due to expire at the end of the month.

According to reports by AS, the Honduras international has already signed a contract with LAFC ahead of the ‘MLS Is Back Tournament‘, which is due to begin on July 8th.
Najar has been training with The Black and Gold since January, and AS quote Najar as saying,
“I have already signed the contract [with LAFC], but we are waiting for the last letter from Anderlecht that shows that I am free at the end of this month.”
If Najar returns to MLS and signs for LAFC at the prime age of 27, it would certainly be seen as beneficial to all parties: the player, the club and his country.
