The full release of the 5.0 patch for SnowRunner is scheduled to go live tomorrow on June 9, but what new features come with it?
On June 9, SnowRunners 5.0 patch will go live for all players – having previously only been available only to those on the PC Public Test Servers.
The new update brings with it a host of bug fixes and new features, but most importantly it beings a brand new map called Rift!
Rift is the latest addition to the Taymyr region and features an awesome landscape for players to conquer.
Here is everything you need to know about where to find the vehicles, missions and upgrades that are available on the new map.
Rift: Vehicles locations
At the time of writing, there appears to be only one salvageable vehicle on the Rift map – the awesome TUZ 420 ‘Tatarin’.
The Tatarin is based on the civilian adaptation of the BTR-80, primarily being used in search and rescue operations in incredibly harsh conditions. Despite the Tatarin being classed as a scout vehicle, it handles like a medium-duty truck and the fuel tank can even rival some larger vehicles.
“Thanks to its powerful engine the Tatarin excels as a recovery vehicle. Its size can be problematic at times however preventing it from reaching spots accessible by other scouts. Though not able to attach trailers normally the Tatarin can be used to tow trailers using its winch. Thanks to its high torque its capable of pulling some trailers with little effort.” – Spintires Fandom
You can find the TUZ 420 ‘Tatarin’ to the west of the map’s central mountain.
The easiest path to the Tatarin is by driving west along the straight(ish) road on the south side of the mountain.
As you cross the river/gorge, turn left and head downhill. The Tatarin will be abandoned in the centre of the muddy valley.
Rift: Mission locations
Currently, there are ten missions available to players on Rift.
‘The Great Nomad’ can be found in the northeast corner of the map near the farmland.
‘Ol’ Faithful’ can be found in the northwest corner of the map across the river valley.
‘Covering All Fronts’ can be found at the summit of the maps central mountain.
‘Lost and Found’ and ‘Pacifist’ can be found near the TUZ 420 ‘Tatarin’ in the mud valley.
‘Unexpected Guests’ can be found in the southwest corner of the map, near to the lake.
Another ‘The Great Nomad’ mission can be found at the third river crossing to the south of the mountain.
‘Finders Keepers’ can be found in the southwest corner of the map just off the main road around the central mountain.
Another ‘Covering All Fronts’ and ‘In With The New’ missions can be found in the very southwestern most corner of the map along the winding road to the lake.
Note: There is a pumpkin patch to the east of the central mountain with an achievement available and a timed mission on the river south of the central mountain.
Rift: Upgrade locations
At the time of writing, there are only three upgrade locations on the Rift map.
The first is the Azov AM-4v 146 that is compatible with the YAR 87 and the Khan 39 Marshall vehicles. You can find this upgrade in the northwest corner of the map in the farmland.
The second upgrade is the Raised Suspension for the Voron AE-4380 and can be found directly east of the central mountain on the shore of the lake.
The final upgrade is the LAZ 6TI95 for the Step 310E and the ZIKZ 5368. This can be found pretty easily in the large open field directly to the south of the central mountain.
June 9 update: Other features and fixes
In addition to the new Rift map on Taymyr, there are several other new features and bug fixes.
There are two new vehicle skins for the Derry Longhorn 3194 and the KHAN Lo4F, flycam is available on mod maps, multiple save slots can be accessed and players in a party can change regions together.
The full release of the 5.0 patch is scheduled to go live tomorrow on June 9th.
