Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso could have picked up a knock, according to Football London

Lo Celso did not feature in Tottenham’s practice match at the weekend, with the Argentine a notable absentee from training.

There has now apparently been word that Lo Celso may have suffered an injury, in the build up to the season starting.

That would be a terrible blow for Tottenham, as the playmaker was one of their in-form players before the break.

Lo Celso has proven to be a fine addition to Tottenham’s team this season, after joining from Real Betis last summer.

The 24-year-old has adapted to Premier League football well and has arguably been Tottenham’s best player since Jose Mourinho’s arrival.

His current problem is not thought to be a severe one, but it has hardly come at an ideal time.

With Premier League football’s return now on the horizon, Lo Celso is missing out on key work to get his fitness and match sharpness back.

And it could be that Lo Celso is now a doubt for Tottenham’s first game back, which comes against Manchester United in under two weeks’ time.
