Newcastle United’s buyers still think that their potential takeover of the club will be a success, according to the Chronicle.
Newcastle’s takeover has taken longer to be green-lighted than anybody expected, with delays now stretching on for months.
Newcastle’s potential Saudi buy-out has been met with opposition from some outside parties, with roadblocks constantly being put in the way of a deal being completed.
Encouragingly though Newcastle’s new owners have not given up on buying the club, and still are reportedly of the belief that they will eventually be confirmed by the Premier League.
In the latest update Mark Douglas says that he has heard from a ‘few sources’ that the cause of the delays is simply the complexity of the deal.
The Premier League has apparently never seen a takeover which has so many potential legal ramifications.
Newcastle supporters are generally desperate for the takeover to go ahead, and if the Saudi-buyers are given the go-ahead to by the club it will be widely celebrated on Tyneside.
Newcastle would immediately become one of the richest clubs in the world under new ownership and there is a feeling that they could become a real force again.
