According to Tuttomercatoweb, Everton are in the race with Chelsea for Fiorentina goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski.
It’s claimed that the Premier League duo have identified Dragowski as a potential signing, having seen him star in Italy this season.
AC Milan are thought to be interested to, with a swap deal for playmaker Lucas Paqueta being suggested ahead of the summer window.
Fiorentina may be tempted to sell, because they already have a replacement. Alban Lafont was loaned out to Nantes this season, and would return as Dragowski’s replacement having impressed in France.
Dragowski, 22, joined Fiorentina in 2016, but has only become first-choice this season. Before that, he was stuck behind a whole host of stoppers, and a loan spell at Empoli forced Fiorentina’s hand.
The Pole – who is yet to win a senior cap for his country – has been highly regarded for some time, and Everton may view him as a replacement for Jordan Pickford should the opportunity arise.
TMW recently noted that Chelsea want Pickford. It may well be the case that Dragowski could replace him at Everton, or head to Chelsea if Everton won’t sell Pickford.
With Jonas Lossl in place as Pickford’s backup and Joao Virginia coming through, adding another first-team goalkeeper doesn’t really make sense unless one is leaving, and Dragowski would surely hate to be a backup again having spent years on the Fiorentina sidelines.
