It looks like Paulo Dybala has accidentally re-opened some old wounds among Tottenham Hotspur fans.
Spurs were agonisingly close to signing the Juventus hitman in what would’ve been the biggest deal of the 2019-20 summer transfer window.
In the end, Tottenham failed and Dybala stayed in Turin.
According to The Independent at the time, the Argentina international was left ‘furious’ that a transfer never materialised.
The 26-year-old faced off against Lilywhites midfielder Dele Alli in a charity game of FIFA for Games Without Borders on Saturday.
And during the stream, Dybala can he heard dropping a ‘COYS’ reference, which means ‘Come on you Spurs’.
And here’s how fans of the North London club reacted to it on Twitter:
In a parralell universe, maybe Tottenham are top of the Premier League and in another Champions League final with Dybala and Harry Kane up front.
But they probably wouldn’t be where they are now, which is eighth in the Premier League table, seven points off fourth spot and eliminated from the Champions League and FA Cup.
Would Mauricio Pochettino even have been sacked? We’ll never know, but one thing we do know for sure is that they wouldn’t be struggling quite like they have been.
