Liverpool have turned their attention to signing Kai Havertz, after missing out on Timo Werner, the Daily Express report.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with Werner in the build up to the summer transfer window, but now look set to agonisingly miss out on that transfer.
Werner is due to move to Chelsea instead, which leaves Jurgen Klopp’s side having to look at alternative options.
Liverpool now are formulating a new plan, and Bayer Leverkusen forward Havertz is said to be on their radar.

Leverkusen’s sporting director admitted yesterday that Havertz’s future with the German side was very uncertain, and would not rule out a departure.
Those comments have reportedly put Liverpool on red alert of a transfer.
Havertz, on his part, is also said to be keen on a move to the Premier League.
His arrival would go some way to softening the blow of missing out on Werner for the Reds.
Havertz is only 20 but he has been one of the stars of the Bundesliga this season and looks one of the most promising young players across Europe.
Havertz could cost even more than Werner for Liverpool though, with the Independent recently reporting he was valued at £80 million.
