The next Epic Games store freebie has been revealed and it’s not Ark Survival Evolved as previous leaks suggested. Instead of being the dinosaur game, the Epic Games store freebie until June 11th is the incredibly cute, charming, and utterly chaotic Overcooked. With the game being available for the cost of nada, lots of interested newcomers understandably want to know if its multiplayer is online.
Although it’s still not the most favoured platform thanks to timed exclusivity deals that rub people the wrong way, there’s no denying that the Epic Games store has recently been giving away some incredible games for free. There was GTA 5 back in May which caused the store to crash, and then there was also Civilization 6 and Borderlands The Handsome Collection. However, it’s not only old games Epic give away for free as Total Way Troy will also be a freebie when it launches later in the year.
While Total War Troy is something to anticipate in the months to come, Overcooked is a steal you can bag right now. And below you’ll discover whether it features online multiplayer.
Is Overcooked online?
No, Overcooked is not online.
You can play Overcooked multiplayer online by downloading Parsec, but the game was only designed with couch co-op in mind.
Per its description on the Epic Games store website, you can “play solo or engage in classic, chaotic couch co-op for up to four players in both co-operative and competitive challenge modes”.
Although it wasn’t designed with online multiplayer, there is a workaround for playing with mates in other households.
