According to a report by El Espanol, Real Madrid have joined the race to sign reported Tottenham Hotspur target Fabio Silva this coming summer.
The Porto youngster has dominated headlines in Portugal this season.
Sporting director Manuel Fernanes witnessed the rise of Cristiano Ronaldo and he believes Silva has made a similar impact at Porto.
“When Cristiano Ronaldo was 17, he was a spearhead for Sporting’s youth. I saw him doing things like I am now seeing from a kid at FC Porto’s youth, Fábio Silva. He’s going to be a hell of a player. In a few years he will be extraordinary,” Fernandes is quoted as saying.

According to Calciomercato, Tottenham are keen on the 17-year-old forward.
Spurs have watched the future generational star break through at Porto this season with the youngster already notching three goals for the first team.
But Jose Mourinho’s side face strong competition for his signature.
The latest reports from Spain claim Silva is one of three ‘pearls’ in Portugal monitored by Real Madrid. The others being Romario Baro and Florentino Luis.
Real Madrid have a history of signing the best young talent from Portugal. In the past they have acquired Fabio Coentrao and Angel di Maria from Benfica, while Casemiro arrived from Porto.
Silva, however, seemingly has the potential to surpass the lot.
Tottenham’s best chance of closing the gap on the Premier League’s current top two is to sign the world’s best youngsters and develop them in North London.
But Silva could be out of their price range. The Porto star penned a new deal last November which included a whopping £110 million buyout clause.
