Mohammed Kudus admits that links with the likes of Everton, Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur have encouraged him to continue his fantastic run of form over in Denmark, speaking to TipsBladet.
He may be nicknamed the ‘new Michael Essien’ but this 19-year-old Ghanaian is already bettering his legendary compatriot in one key area.
During a storied career at the likes of Chelsea, Real Madrid and AC Milan, Essien never hit double figures in a single campaign. Kudus, however, has ten goals in just 23 matches for Nordsjaelland in 2019/20, adding a ruthless streak to his technical and physical gifts.
No wonder the clubs are queuing up to secure his sough-after signature.
Newcastle and Everton have been linked, via GhanaSoccerNet and HBVL respectively.

Jose Mourinho, who worked with the original Essien during those heady days at Stamford Bridge, reportedly wants to work with his heir apparent at Tottenham Hotspur (FootMercato).
And it speaks volumes about Kudus’s maturity and attitude that a man who doesn’t turn 20 until August is taking everything in his stride.
“In a way, it motivates me to do even better. There are great expectations for me and it has taught me how important it is to keep your feet on the ground,” Kudus says, while admitting that his dream club is a certain Spanish giant clad in red and blue.
“I like Barcelona, I’m a big fan of Spanish football. But I watch matches from all the top five leagues, so I have a good knowledge of them all.”
Kudus will be a free agent in 2021 and Nordsjaelland will know, in their heart of hearts, that a parting of the ways will be unavoidable unless he opts to sign a new, long-term contract with the Superliga outfit.
