Twitter users have woken up to yet another celebrity joining the ranks of the ‘cancelled’.

The past two weeks have been tumultuous for a number of reasons: the ongoing global pandemic, the death of George Floyd, riots and protests all across America. This year is really shaping up to be one of the most dramatic in a generation.

To add to the world’s outrage, the past two weeks have seen a number of celebrities called out for their previous remarks and past behaviour. We’ve seen Lana del Rey critiqued over her white feminism and Jimmy Fallon condemned for his use of blackface on SNL.

The latest celebrity to be added to the ‘cancelled’ list is none other than Glee’s Lea Michele.

So, what did Lea Michele do to earn herself the ‘cancelled’ title? Here’s what went down on Twitter on Tuesday, June 2nd.

What did Sammie Ware say about Lea Michele?

The ‘cancellation’ of Lea kicked off after her fellow co-star called her out for bullying.

After Lea Michele shared a tweet in support of #BlackLivesMatter on May 29th, 2020, Sammie was quick to mention that Lea had engaged in microagressions that “made [her] question a career in Hollywood.”

Sammie claimed that on set, Lea “told everyone that if you had the opportunity you would ‘sh*t in my wig!'”

Glee stars speak out

A number of celebrities commented on Sammie Ware’s statement.

It kicked off with Community actress Yvette Nicole Brown who replied: “I felt every one of those capital letters.”
