  • Play Animal Crossing New Horizons at any time of day between June and September
  • Fish in the sea either on your beach or pier
  • Use Fish bait to attract different shadow sizes
  • Throw your fishing line when you find a large shadow size with a fin
  • Press A when the fish takes a bite
  • Wait for your character to reel in your mighty sucker and see what you got

While it’s possible you could get a Whale Shark on your first go, it’s also possible you’ll instead get another shark such as a Great White or Saw Shark.
