Rangers already have one star left back in Borna Barisic, but they may need some cover behind him this summer.
Andy Halliday and Jon Flanagan have offered competition in recent times, but both are leaving Rangers when their contracts expire this summer.
That leaves Barisic as the only natural left back at the club, and finding another option has to be a a priority for Steven Gerrard and co.
On Sunday, one rumour materialised with this in mind. TEAMtalk claimed that Rangers are in the race to sign Sheffield Wednesday left back Morgan Fox ahead of his departure.
Fox is out of contract this summer, and looks set to go. Burnley, Bournemouth, Middlesbrough, Norwich City and West Bromwich Albion are also interested.
Fox, 26, joined Wednesday from Charlton Athletic in January 2017, and has largely blown hot and cold during his time at Hillsborough.
Rangers would be able to sign Fox for free, which will certainly appeal, though he would stand little chance of breaking past Barisic.
Wednesday fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, with many suggesting that both Fox and Steven Fletcher should be let go.
Some think Fox is no great loss, with others believing that he should be kept and should avoid heading to Scotland if he’s going to leave the Owls.
