Animal Crossing New Horizons has left behind May and is now entering June with a wedding season plus a whole bunch of new fish and bugs to catch. One of the new arrivals for June in the Northern hemisphere includes Great White Sharks and other deadly sea beasties, and here you’ll discover when and how to catch a Saw Shark.

As previously mentioned, Animal Crossing New Horizons’ entry into June comes with a wedding season which offers rewards and the adorably cute Reese and Cyrus who only wish to celebrate their love for one another. However, while celebrating the love between a pair of alpacas is great escapism, so too is fishing to add to your museum and to get some bells.

Below you’ll discover when and how to catch a Saw Shark so you can add it to your museum and sell any others for a neat price.

When do Saw Sharks spawn in Animal Crossing New Horizons?

A Saw Shark will only spawn in Animal Crossing New Horizons between the hours of 16:00 and 09:00.

In addition, a Saw Shark will only spawn in the Northern hemisphere of Animal Crossing New Horizons for the following months:

  • June
  • July
  • August
  • September

These are the only months you’ll be able to catch the prized and weird looking sea beasty.

How to catch Saw Shark in Animal Crossing

You catch a Saw Shark in Animal Crossing New Horizons by following the below steps:

  • Play Animal Crossing New Horizons between the hours of 16:00 and 09:00
  • Fish in the sea either on your beach or on the pier
  • Use fish bait to lure in different fish and shadow sizes
  • Look for a large shadow size with a fin
  • Cast your fishing line and only press A when the desired catch takes a proper bite
  • Reel in the sucker to see what you hooked

It’s possible that you could be extremely lucky and get a Saw Shark on your first go, but you may get another shark variant instead so patience may be required.

Once you capture the oddly formed sea beasty, donate it to Blather for your museum. Then you can sell any others you catch for 12,000 bells.
