Rangers will be aiming to stop their bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from winning the Scottish Premiership title for the 10th successive season in 2020-21.
The Hoops have made it nine in a row and are strong favourites to make it 10 in a row.
While many will think that Steven Gerrard’s side will be under huge pressure to win the championship next season, former Rangers defender Amoruso – who won the league title with the Gers thrice – believes that Neil Lennon’s team will be under more pressure.
The Italian has added that Celtic know that Rangers are getting closer to them and will feel the heat.
Amoruso told The Daily Record: “For Rangers the pressure is always there. It doesn’t matter about Celtic and 10 in a row. That just gives the players another reason to try to beat them.
“The bigger pressure is on the team which has been winning. Celtic have won nine titles but four of them were without Rangers in the league.
“Celtic know Rangers are getting closer because they showed it on the pitch. But they will have problems against the other teams too, just like we had all those years ago.”
Next season will be big
Celtic have the strongest team in Scotland, and the Hoops will start next season as favourites.
There will be pressure on both Celtic and Rangers next season, and it remains to be seen which set of players collapse under it.
