Tiemoue Bakayoko could be offered a second chance in the Premier League, with Le10 Sport suggesting that the Chelsea misfit may be heading to London rivals West Ham United on loan.

While the likes of Bernardo Silva, Fabinho and Kylian Mbappe have gone from strength to strength since firing that sensational Monaco side to Ligue 1 glory three years ago, the same cannot be said of this 6ft 2ins powerhouse.

Bakayoko’s £40 million move to Chelsea has been nothing short of an expensive disaster after all. The once-capped France international looked out of his depth at the heart of Antonio Conte’s midfield, collecting cautions at an alarming rate while infuriating the Stamford Bridge support with a seemingly endless stream of misplaced passes.

At just 25, however, no one should be writing off Bakayoko just yet.

A man who learned his all-action style from Blues legend Claude Makelele was one of the first names on AC Milan’s team sheet not so long ago and has impressed again since returting to Monaco on a short-term basis last summer.

According to reports in France, David Moyes’s West Ham are now offering Bakayoko the chance to prove that he can succeed in the Premier League after all.

The Paris-born giant could offer some much-needed steel at the heart of a rather spongy Hammers midfield, while easing the burden on the exceptional but overworked Declan Rice.

Yet with just two years remaining on his contract, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea would really let Bakayoko leave on loan again. Time is running out if the London giants want to recoup at least some of that £40 million outlay.
