Celtic can celebrate a ninth league title in a row, having been crowned champions last week following the resolution of the Scottish Premiership season.

The Bhoys were 13 points clear of Rangers at the time of the pandemic hitting, and with no games able to be played, Celtic are champions again.

Neil Lennon and co haven’t quite won the title in the way they would have expected. Nonetheless, it’s a ninth title in a row – no matter what some may say.

The attention will quickly turn to going for title number 10, with Celtic now tantalisingly close to a truly huge feat. Signings may well be needed for that – and one players is emerging as a potential signing.

Hearts defender Aaron Hickey has been linked with Celtic for some time now. It now seems that the Bhoys are closing in on a deal to re-sign the full back.

90Min claim that Hickey is poised to sub Premier League interest and instead join Celtic. Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton and Leeds United are reportedly set to miss out.

Hickey, 17, has emerged in the Hearts first team this season. He has shown promise in a struggling Hearts side, and that has seemingly been enough for Celtic to re-sign him having let him go in 2018.

Celtic fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, with some ‘baffled’ by the move as they believe Hickey hasn’t shown enough to suggest he’ll be a star for Celtic.

Others compared him to Liverpool’s Andrew Robertson, who was also let go by Celtic, and branded him a ‘quality’ prospect that can replace Boli Bolingoli.
