The Last Of Us Part 2 is one of the most anticipated games of 2020 but recently controversy has marred its anticipation and hype thanks to massive leaks and spoilers. You’ve no doubt seen lots of back-and-forth arguing about the nature of these spoilers and whether they mean the game is bad, but the good news for both detractors and those who are excited is that the review embargo lift date has been revealed. And, unlike certain other games, you’ll be able to gauge the critical consensus and impressions well before its launch.

With Ellie as the playable protagonist this time around as opposed to Joel, The Last Of Us Part 2 is a game that has given fans a bunch of mixed messages. Naughty Dog have defended the game from its leaks by saying that the experience will be worth the excruciating wait, whereas Troy Baker has previously said that he doesn’t know whether people will love or hate it.

You obviously can’t judge the game alone by the nature of its spoilers due to lack of context and misinterpretation in some regards, which is why it’s good news for both fans and detractors that the review embargo has a generous lift date.

What is The Last Of Us Part 2 review embargo lift date?

The review embargo lift date for The Last Of Us Part 2 is June 12th.

To be even more precise, the review embargo for The Last Of Us Part 2 will be lifted at 00:01 PT, 03:01 ET, and 08:01 BST.

Gamesradar has posted the news as this is when they’ll be able to share their own review of the upcoming sequel.

With The Last Of Us Part 2 coming out on June 19th, this review embargo date means you’ll have a whole week ahead of its release to consume reviews to decide whether the game is for you.

Some people have obviously written the title off thanks to spoilers that were shared all over the internet, but the vast majority of the PlayStation fanbase remain massively interested and are likely to buy the game for day one.

Here’s hoping the reviews are good as Naughty Dog is one of the most consistent developers thanks to the original The Last Of Us as well as the Uncharted series.
