Dubbed family-friendly Diablo, Minecraft Dungeons is now available to buy on every platform it’s available on meaning fans can now start their dungeon crawling experience. However, with cross platform multiplayer having become somewhat common over the past few years, lots of eager gamers want to know if Minecraft Dungeons also has crossplay between PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Although it’s not the same as the series’ main title, Minecraft Dungeons has still received moderately positive reviews with many agreeing that it has plenty of charm and addictive qualities, as well as compelling combat and good rewards.

If you’ve already purchased the spin-off or are thinking about doing so, below you’ll discover whether it features crossplay between PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Is Minecraft Dungeons crossplay?

No, Minecraft Dungeons is not crossplay at launch.

The lack of crossplay at launch means it’s impossible for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch players to enjoy Minecraft Dungeons together through multiplayer.

However, while it’s currently impossible to enjoy the dungeon crawling experience with chums on other platforms, you can still enjoy four-player co-op with mates on the same system.

With that being said, know that you can’t mix local and online multiplayer at the same time as you have to pick one over the other.

When you do participate in multiplayer, you should also know that the game’s difficulty, amount of enemies, and rewarded loot will all be changed depending on how many players are in the session.

Will Minecraft Dungeons have cross platform multiplayer?

Minecraft Dungeons will eventually have cross platform multiplayer.

Cross platform multiplayer isn’t available at launch, but Mojang says  it will eventually be added to Minecraft Dungeons through a free update.

This free update hasn’t been given a release date by either Mojang or Microsoft, but it’s good news nonetheless that PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC chums will eventually be able to slay hordes of enemies together.
