Blood & Water arrived on Netflix on May 20th and has introduces fans to a host of new acting talent but just who plays the character of Zama Bolton?

Netflix has a growing reputation for its original series and in recent years has earned acclaim for the like of Stranger Things and The Witcher.

Blood & Water is the latest original series from Netflix and is only the second African Netflix original after Queen Sono arrived in February 2020.

The six-episode first season of the South African teen drama tells the story of Puleng as she tries to navigate through life at high school.

However, her family’s sinister secret past starts to emerge as well as revelations about Puleng’s sister who was kidnapped years ago as part of a human trafficking ring.

Who plays Zama in Blood & Water?

Zama Bolton is Puleng’s best friend from childhood and is a love interest of the character of Chris Ackerman.

  • Taking on the role of Zama Bolton in the series is Cindy Mahlangu.

The 23-year-old actress was born on November 21st, 1996 and also has experience as a singer and model.

Away from acting, Cindy is highly active on social media, particularly Instagram where she boasts a remarkable 640,000 followers at the time of writing.

According to IMDb, Blood & Water is Cindy’s first major role.

However, she is also understood to have acting credits in the likes of The Queen and The Herd, the latter proving to be her stepping stone to fame.

With her whole career ahead of her, and a major Netflix role under her belt, we’re sure it won’t be long before we see Cindy Mahlangu on our screens once again.
